  1. Hello, I am turning 60 tomorrow and totally appreciate your goals and momentum. I heard about you from my dear friend Libby. Best wishes– will join you in getting active (am over 200 pounds now as well, and it takes its toll).

    • Hi, Martha! I’m so glad you will be joining me–we can support each other in getting healthy. Happy birthday, too! It’s exciting to feel that you’re right at the beginning of a new chapter of life. 🙂

  2. And you’ll conquer this one – I know that you will. You’re a talented, beautiful woman with fantastic hair and any gal that has that combination can put her mind to any task.

I like to prepare several days of meals in plastic containers in the fridge and cabinets. I will pre-portion crackers and snacks into 1/4 cup servings and put them in the cabinet. This helps me from grabbing the box and eating the entire thing. When I want a snack, I can only have one container (approx 150 calories). All of cabinets are full of plastic containers and pre-portioned crackers, nuts and etc.

I do the same with meals. If we’re having lasagna on Wed, I might cook it on Monday and put 400 calorie portions in individual plastic containers. When it’s time for dinner, I get one, rather than 5! I can eat an entire 9×12 lasagna all by myself so I must pre-portion it so I don’t eat the entire pan.

Eating is my favorite activity. I find exercise easy to do, but controlling my eating not easy to do. I’m a small person and weight isn’t an issue, but unhealthy food is still very very bad for a person. I’m fairly small on the outside, by my heart, lungs and other important body parts will be really icky on the inside if I don’t take care of myself. I want to live a long, healthy life so I really struggle with my eating habits.

I ate 17 snickers one time. Oh, that is not good.

So, I’m excited to read your story and learn from you and the other fine ladies that will be following your journey. Thanks for putting yourself out there so we can all bond together! Girls just wanna have fun and we can’t have fun if we’re not healthy.

    Go Saralee!

  3. I’m not sure why I didn’t see this before (as opposed to your webpage). In any case, any chance you’d add the widget for following you by email?
